Hardware Requirements
RIMS runs on a PC network — . There is one server computer that holds the database and then PC's for users. (No large, proprietary, mainframe computer is required.) Here are our current recommendations:
User PCs
Computer Processor Speed - Any
Memory - 2 GB
Disk Size - Any
Monitor - 17" minimum for Dispatchers (20" or larger recommended); 15" minimum for other users
Server
Server
Computer Processor Speed - Any
Memory - 4 GB
Disk Size - 160 GB to 200 GB (RAID 5) SCSI
Monitor - Any size
User Operating System Software
Windows Vista and XP Professional are acceptable.
Server Software
You need to have Windows 2000, 2003, or 2008 Server as your server’s operating system. You will also need Microsoft SQL Server database software (2000, 2005, or 2008 version) for your server.
