Montebello Town Center
RIMS in a shopping mall?! Montebello Town Center in Montebello, California (eight miles east of downtown Los Angeles), has four major department stores and 160 shops, eateries, and restaurants.
While a security office is not exactly a metropolitan police department, they do have much the same mission, maintaining public safety. Montebello Town Center has more than 13 million visitors per year. Unfortunately, a number of high profile incidents at shopping malls in recent years have highlighted the need for mall security for all these visitors to be much more than one unarmed guard behind a counter.
Montebello Town Center clearly realized the need for a police-like security department many years ago and did not neglect the technology side — they have been using RIMS CAD and records management software since 1997.
