Movie Studio Security
Walt Disney Studios
Originally developed beginning in 1937, Walt Disney Studios has continually evolved over the years to remain a state of the art film production and post-production facility. The studio spreads over 200 acres in Burbank, California with sound stages, recording studios, other production facilities, and administrative buildings.
Security at movie studios has three important aspects: public safety, assisting visitors, and intercepting unwanted guests. In fact, at Disney Studios security personnel are known as “hosts.” In keeping with their progressive nature, in 1996 Walt Disney Studios became one of the first studios to install a commercial public safety software system. They chose Sun Ridge Systems and have used RIMS CAD and RMS ever since.
